Relevant Tones: inti figgis-vizueta

I had the immense pleasure of speaking with composer inti figgis-vizueta for Relevant Tones. inti writes “magically real musics through the lens of personal identities, braiding a childhood of overlapping immigrant communities and Black-founded Freedom schools—in Chocolate City (DC)—with direct Andean & Irish heritage and a deep connection to the land.” In this interview, I ask inti about several of her pieces, her music notation and communication processes, the New Latin Wave Festival, string quartets, and much more!

You can listen to our conversation and inti’s music, here!
